Position Summary
The Property Inspector plays a critical role in protecting the quality, safety, and presentation standards of Stony Brook Cabins’ vacation rental homes. This position ensures each property is guest-ready prior to arrival by conducting detailed inspections, verifying cleanliness, confirming functionality of all systems, and addressing minor maintenance items. The Property Inspector serves as a final quality control checkpoint before check-in.
Responsibilities
Pre-Arrival Inspections

Conduct thorough inspections of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas prior to guest arrival.

Verify housekeeping quality and ensure brand standards are consistently met.

Confirm proper staging of furniture, décor, and outdoor spaces.
Quality & Functionality Checks

Test appliances, HVAC systems, televisions, Wi-Fi, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and other electronics.

Ensure hot tubs, fireplaces, and specialty amenities are operational.

Confirm safety items (smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, handrails, exterior lighting) are functioning properly.
Staging & Amenity Verification

Ensure linens are properly placed and presentation-ready.

Confirm inventory levels of guest supplies (paper products, soaps, starter kits).

Verify welcome materials and property signage are accurate and in place.
Light Maintenance

Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening hardware, adjusting doors, unclogging drains, or replacing batteries.

Escalate larger maintenance issues promptly through internal systems.
Reporting & Communication

Document inspection results through company platforms (e.g., Breezeway or similar systems).
