Scope of Project
Baltimore County seeks a Workday Subject Matter Expert to support configuration, integration development, reporting, and enterprise HR/Payroll/Finance functions. This role will initially be 100% onsite, and after onboarding will transition into a hybrid role (2 days per week onsite). The SME will assist with post-implementation enhancements, system optimization, technical documentation, and coordination with multiple internal divisions.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, test, and deploy Workday integrations including EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and SOAP/REST APIs.
• Configure business processes, calculated fields, validations, and condition rules according to County requirements.
• Develop and maintain custom Workday reporting, dashboards, and automated scheduling.
• Monitor integration schedules, troubleshoot issues, and maintain connections with third-party vendors.
• Document design decisions and provide Workday technical support to stakeholder groups.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams and participate in change control processes.
Required/Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science OR equivalent experience (year-for-year substitution up to 4 years).
• Minimum 2 years of experience administering or supporting enterprise systems such as Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, and Reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capability, and business process understanding.
• Demonstrated experience with Workday implementation and/or post-production support (preferred).
• Workday certifications or verifiable equivalent experience (preferred).
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information and collaborate across functional departments.
