Job Purpose:
- The Community Mobile Pantry Program Coordinator at Utah Food Bank is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the mobile pantry program. This role involves coordinating logistics, ensuring efficient distribution of food to communities in need, and fostering relationships with community partners to enhance the reach and impact of the program. The coordinator will play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity and promoting community well-being through effective program management and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the daily operations of the mobile pantry program, including scheduling, route planning, and ensuring timely delivery of food to designated locations.
- Collaborate with community partners, volunteers, and staff to facilitate smooth operations and enhance the effectiveness of the mobile pantry services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, local agencies, and stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of the program.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage inventory and resources, ensuring adequate supplies for each mobile pantry distribution.
- Provide training and support to volunteers and staff involved in the mobile pantry operations.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to program activities, outcomes, and community impact.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to increase community engagement and awareness of the mobile pantry program.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during food handling and distribution.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Utah Food Bank.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination or management, preferably within a non-profit or community service organization.
- Proven track record of working with diverse communities and understanding their unique needs.
- Experience in organizing and managing events or programs, including logistics, scheduling, and volunteer coordination.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with community members, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data management and reporting, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food security issues and community resources in Utah.
- Experience in grant writing and fundraising activities.
