Position: Medical Records Specialist
Location: in office in Newark, DE
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Job Summary
Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments in a timely and accurate manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments, making sure all tests, etc. have been uploaded into patient charts.
- Obtain referrals if necessary.
- Provide records to outside requests following proper protocol.
- Work independently and set priorities.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Be proficient in Release of Health Information.
- Review medical record requests / authorizations for compliancy.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of EHR.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Cardiac knowledge and Allscripts experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Finger dexterity to perform duties such as typing or writing.
- Ability to speak and hear.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary : $35,062 - $45,913
