What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Quality Inspectors position at US Trades?
We are seeking Quality Inspectors to support an active project with an immediate focus on header steel inspections, followed by continued work overseeing mechanical installation of conveyor systems. This role offers a long-term opportunity for individuals who can ensure quality and accuracy throughout multiple phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of header steel to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards
- Review and interpret engineering drawings to verify accuracy of installation and fabrication Identify, document, and communicate discrepancies or non-conforming work
- Maintain clear and accurate inspection reports and documentation
- Work closely with site leadership to coordinate and verify corrective actions
- Inspect mechanical installation of conveyor systems for compliance with drawings, layouts, and specifications
- Verify proper installation practices, alignment, and assembly of system components
- Ensure installation meets project quality standards and manufacturer requirements
- Continue documentation and reporting of quality findings throughout installation phase
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Quality Inspector in construction, industrial, or material handling environments
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams (required)
- Working knowledge of structural steel and/or mechanical installation practices
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent with attendance
- Ability to work in an active jobsite environment and coordinate across multiple trades
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with structural/header steel inspections
- Experience with conveyor systems or material handling equipment installations
- Background in mechanical or structural trades
- Familiarity with quality documentation and reporting processes
