CAD Designer II

Duration:           12 Months

Note:
Hybrid role: 4 days onsite/1 day remote (usually Fridays)
Work schedule: 8-5 pm or flexible start time, 40 hour week

Job Description:

• The CAD Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed drawings using CAD software based on provided instructions, sketches, and layouts.
• This role involves working closely with engineers and other team members to produce high quality drawings for various projects.
  
  

• Prepare drawings using MicroStation or other CAD software (AutoCAD) according to provided instructions.
• Perform drawing changes and revisions as directed by engineers or project managers.
• Receive supervision, instruction, and review of work to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Follow drafting practices and procedures to produce clear and concise drawings.
• Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
  
  

• Associate’s degree (Technology or Drafting) plus experience; or related vocational technical high school program.
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly MicroStation or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of drafting practices and procedures. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  
  

• 3D design of custom equipment design solutions, including physical plan, elevations, section detail views, required custom views for FACTS solutions for orders and proposals.
• Develop Bills of Material for all designs, ensure consistency and quality throughout design process.
• Interface with internal and external team members such as principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders and support organizations.
• Facilitate the development and execute cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low-cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.
• Excellent personal computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word, Autodesk and Bentley Open Utilities 3D CAD platforms.
• Support project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001.
