Reports to: Branch Manager
Job Summary:
The Teller is responsible for providing exceptional service while processing a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently. This role is often the first point of contact for members and plays a critical role in delivering a positive member experience by addressing routine banking needs and connecting members with additional credit union resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet members promptly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming experience.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other member transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Verify cash totals at the beginning, middle and end of each shift and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
• Set an example of professionalism, behave with integrity, and contribute positively to the culture and brand of the organization.
• Refer members to Financial Services Representatives or Financial Services Officers as appropriate for credit products, new accounts, and other specialized services.
• May participate in light promotional goals with the opportunity for incentives (e.g., refer 5 credit products that fund to receive a performance-based incentive).
• Respond to member inquiries and resolve routine concerns or escalate as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with ATM balancing, night deposit processing, and other daily branch tasks as assigned.
• Maintain the confidentiality of member and credit union information.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
• Must successfully complete a probationary period, after which employee will be required to join the applicable teller union as a condition of employment.
