About This Opportunity A positive, emotionally intelligent and inclusive approach sits at the heart of this role, shaping a supportive and collaborative team environment. As the Coordinator, Community & Student Engagement, you will play a key role in advancing the Centre’s vision, supporting meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities and contributing to the success of Indigenous HDR candidates. Working closely with Indigenous Elders, researchers and partners, you will help deliver impactful initiatives that are aligned with cultural protocols and make a genuine contribution to Indigenous futures. Key responsibilities will include: Coordinating high‑impact and sustainable community engagement initiatives in collaboration with Indigenous communities, researchers and partner organisations, including supporting evaluation and continuous improvement of engagement activities. Providing administrative and logistical support to the IFC Elder‑in‑Residence and Community & Partner Advisory Board, including coordinating meetings, managing correspondence and preparing meeting minutes. Supporting the ARC‑IFC HDR Program across the full candidate lifecycle, including scholarship awareness, application coordination, enrolment, orientation and ongoing development activities. Acting as the primary point of contact for prospective ARC‑IFC HDR candidates, guiding applicants through processes and liaising with academic and professional stakeholders across the University. About You The University of Queensland considers that to perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld). The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. You will also bring: Demonstrated experience engaging respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, with an understanding of cultural protocols and community‑led approaches. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Highly developed organisational and planning skills, including attention to detail, the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Experience working within administrative systems, policies and procedures, or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge in a complex organisational environment.
