The Community Engagement Research Specialist will assist with conducting research to inform the co-creation of a research project focused on maternal and child health.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct a literature review to update our current understanding of culturally competent prenatal care and delivery.

• Identify gaps in information related to culturally competent health care related to maternal and infant health

• Analyze methodologies used by other research teams, including the types of questions asked and the differences between studies using listening-focused groups versus surveys.

• Investigate factors that can inform awareness and sensitivity in health providers, including past successful practices.

• Determine best practices for timing interviews related to pregnancy and delivery, considering the impact of time intervals such as 5 or 10 years post-delivery.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software

Experience working in maternal or infant health research or practice

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment.
