Role Description I am seeking one highly motivated PhD or MS-level graduate students to begin in the fall semester 2026. The topic of research is flexible but should fall into the broad theme of forest operations and production forestry. Prospective students should have a strong interest in timber harvesting systems, logging safety, and technology-based solutions for the forest operations sector. Specific projects could include topics related to production and site impacts of logging systems in the Inland Northwest, workforce development and training for the forest products industry, and/or applications of remote sensing and GIS for operational forestry, though other topics can be explored.
The position is available starting Fall 2026. Financial support may be a combination of a teaching and research assistantship. Applicants should have a strong work ethic, ability to work independently, strong writing and quantitative capabilities, and demonstrated leadership experience. Expertise and backgrounds in forest operations, forest engineering, and/or forestry is preferred.

- Maintain a strong commitment to ethical conduct, academic integrity, and adherence to university policies and standards.
