Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Direct Services
- Provide culturally responsive individual, couples, and family counseling to faculty and staff that considers diverse backgrounds and identities. Services are primarily offered within a brief therapy framework.
- Identify and engage employees from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including those historically underrepresented or underserved in mental health care.
- Provide crisis intervention, including suicide assessment and collaboration with the campus Threat Assessment team.
- Collaborate with university departments and employee resource groups to enhance awareness and access to mental health resources.
- Offer psycho-educational workshops, presentations, or supportive groups, including, but not limited to, teaching skills in growing healthy relationships, families, and parenting.
- Complete session notes, intake documents, and other clinical and administrative documentation in a timely manner.
- Attend regular supervision with the clinical supervisor.
- Provide informal support to master’s level counseling interns.
- Attend regular supervision with clinical supervisor.
- Contribute to other mission-relevant administrative duties as assigned.
- Participate in department relevant committees.
- Engage in self-work needed to uncover and dismantle personal biases that may interruptive to the work of a counselor and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Attend professional development and conferences, especially those that advance subject matter expertise in couples and families, and higher education and employee assistance programs.
- Fulfill other job duties supporting the FSAP office and leadership.
- We are hiring for 2 full-time positions with the ability to work in a hybrid work modality. There are no evening, weekend, or on-call hours barring extraordinary circumstances. These positions are term-limited, set to begin on 6/1/26 and to end on 06/30/2028.
- The annual salary for this position is $62,500.

What We Require
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage or Couples and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or related field from an accredited program within 3 months of hire.
- Active and in good standing candidate licensure in the State of Colorado within 3 months of hire.
- Must have completed 9 months experience operating as a Counseling Intern, or equivalent, under supervision of a professional counselor, or equivalent, in the State of Colorado, in a higher education employee assistance program within the past 12 months.
- Demonstrated effectiveness providing clinical services for individuals from multicultural backgrounds and contexts and historically marginalized populations in mental health.
- Clear understanding and willingness to operate as part of and within a larger system of a health and wellness support network.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, team members, and campus partners.
- Multicultural awareness and openness.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity.
- Experience with timely electronic record-keeping and documentation.
- Experience working with a range of clinical issues, ranging across the spectrum of human experiences and adulthood.
- Role clarity in maintaining confidentiality in job functions, while navigating dual relationships.
- Strong administrative effectiveness and organization.
- Competency with Microsoft 365 (Office), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
- 9 months experience operating as an FSAP Counseling Intern at CU Boulder while under supervision of an FSAP Licensed Counselor at CU Boulder.
- Experience working in a university or college setting.
- Experience providing clinical care for populations who have been historically underserved in mental health.
- Experience providing counseling for an employee assistance program.
- Public speaking experience.
