Job Description
The Department of Pathology, Division of Laboratory Medicine, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Academic Hematopathologist with American Board of Pathology (ABP) board certification for an open rank/open tenure-earning Asst/Assoc/Professor position, depending on the candidate’s qualifications. Applicants must have a MD, MD/PhD or DO and completed a formal ABP-fellowship in hematopathology. Candidates must have special clinical proficiency in lymph node pathology, bone marrow interpretation and experience in interpretation of flow cytometric and molecular data. Prospective faculty will be expected to provide diagnostic and consultation service, participate in fellow, resident, and medical student education, and take part in ongoing collaborative efforts by a multidisciplinary team of well-established clinical investigators. Expertise in machine learning algorithms, the application of artificial intelligence to laboratory medicine, and digital pathology are highly desirable. Salary, rank, and tenure status are commensurate with experience and background.
