Job Description – RN - ER
This RN - ER role in Stockton is the perfect match for nurses who excel in fast-paced environments and thrive on critical thinking, rapid assessments, and compassionate care. As part of this 13-week day shift assignment, you’ll handle a wide variety of emergent cases while enjoying Universal HCR’s signature supportive, upbeat experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide rapid triage, assessment, and stabilization of emergency patients
- Manage trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and acute conditions
- Administer medications, initiate IVs, and perform emergency interventions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams
- Operate ER equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and defibrillators
- Monitor patient conditions and document accurately and promptly
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatments and follow-up care
- Maintain safety standards and adhere to ER protocols and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Strong clinical judgment and rapid response abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, high-acuity environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced understanding of emergency care procedures and protocols
- Proficient with ER equipment and documentation systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
