Pharmacist
Location: Durango, CO 81301
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Shift: Variable 10-Hour Days
Shift Window: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to join a hospital pharmacy team in Durango, Colorado. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with sterile compounding and hospital pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Prepare and dispense medications according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Perform sterile compounding following established safety and quality standards.
- Monitor medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions or issues.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide medication information and education to patients and clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
- Follow medication safety, infection-control, and regulatory requirements.
- Support daily hospital pharmacy operations and workflow.
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
Required Certifications
- BLS – American Heart Association (AHA) – Required
Must-Have Experience
- Sterile compounding experience – REQUIRED
- Hospital pharmacy operations experience – REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong attention to detail and medication-safety practices.
