Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 9-week contract assignment in Dodge City, KS. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in performing routine and complex laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves working night shifts on a 12-hour, 3-day schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, and blood banking.
- Accurately analyze specimens and validate test results.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Document and verify test findings in the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Follow established protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory standards (CLIA, OSHA, CAP).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and lab personnel to support patient care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
- Handle specimens according to proper safety and infection control guidelines.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation or testing issues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, instrumentation, and quality assurance.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and time-management abilities.
