Job Title: Histo Technician

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 8 hours, 5 days per week

Pay Range: 35 to 38 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Histo Technician to support the pathology department by preparing high quality histology slides for diagnostic evaluation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination
- Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping procedures
- Operate and maintain histology lab equipment
- Follow established protocols for specimen handling and processing
- Keep accurate documentation and maintain quality control standards
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
- Adhere to laboratory safety and infection control guidelines
- Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to ensure timely workflow
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Histo Technician
- Knowledge of tissue processing, staining techniques, and histology equipment
- ASCP Certification preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced laboratory environment
- Current BLS certification preferred
