The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) provides direct care for patients in the psychiatric milieu by interacting with patients individually and in groups with a focus on assessment and monitoring of symptoms and behaviors, implementation of behavioral interventions, and enhancing coping strategies.
The MHS utilizes a variety of modalities for milieu therapy and milieu management to assist in providing an environment of intensive therapeutic programming for patients.

- reporting assessment data to the RN and/or other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Science
- Minimum of one year experience in a mental health care setting for children/ adolescents
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- CPI Training within 90 days of hire
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or another healthcare or mental health field
- Additional experience providing direct health care services to children/ adolescents
