Transportation Driver – Behavioral Health Facility

Job Overview

Unity Recovery Center is seeking a dependable and professional Client Transportation Driver to assist with pick-up and drop-off of clients for our behavioral health and substance use treatment facility.

The driver will be responsible for safely transporting clients using a company-provided vehicle. Fuel and vehicle insurance are provided by the company for authorized work-related driving. This is not a shuttle or bus position; transportation is performed by car or similar company vehicle.

The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and comfortable working with individuals receiving behavioral health or substance use treatment services.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport clients to and from the facility, appointments, approved locations, and other scheduled destinations.
• Use a company-provided vehicle for assigned transportation duties.
• Follow all driving laws, facility policies, and transportation safety procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, patience, and confidentiality when interacting with clients.
• Communicate with facility staff regarding pick-up times, drop-off times, delays, route issues, or client concerns.
• Keep accurate transportation logs, including trip details, mileage, and any required documentation.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks before and after trips and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Keep the vehicle clean, safe, and ready for client transportation.
• Follow HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times.
• Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate, while maintaining safety and appropriate boundaries.
• Follow all company vehicle use, safety, and insurance requirements while operating the company-provided vehicle.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Clean driving record required.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Prior experience as a driver, medical transportation driver, patient transportation driver, delivery driver, or similar role preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, healthcare, or client services is a plus.
• Must be comfortable transporting clients in a behavioral health/substance use treatment setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with staff.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain boundaries, and handle sensitive situations calmly.
• Must be able to pass required background checks and meet company driving requirements.

Position Summary

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
