Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policy.
- Monitor and document resident responses to medications and treatments.
- Perform wound care and dressing changes using aseptic techniques.
- Take and record vital signs; observe and report changes in resident condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely resident records and documentation.
- Educate residents on procedures and self-care to promote comfort and cooperation.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Order medications and supplies as needed.
- Count and record controlled substances at shift changes.
- Supervise nursing staff during evening and overnight shifts.
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-service training, and continuing education.
- Assume Head Nurse duties when necessary.
- Report resident or employee concerns promptly to the ADON on duty.
