Committed to achieving world-class manufacturing standards, we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who can perform at a high level in a fast-paced and evolving environment.Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing design specifications for both custom and standard products, researching and implementing advanced manufacturing techniques to improve product quality and reduce costs, and continuously enhancing product designs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and update new and existing products, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.Create detailed part and assembly drawings for quotations, manufacturing, assembly, and quality control.Collaborate directly with vendors to obtain quotations and ensure manufacturability.Partner with production teams to confirm proper assembly and provide technical support throughout the manufacturing process.Support vendors and customers with design-related inquiries as needed.Assist in creating, maintaining, and publishing technical documentation and product manuals.Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, and routings for production control.Backup Responsibilities:Support Manufacturing and Purchasing with BOM revisions, ECR/ECN procedures, document control, and drawing/specification updates.Collaborate with Sales and Marketing as needed, including developing training materials, product graphics, and marketing documentation.Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (a combination of education and experience may be considered).Software Proficiency:Strong command of SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software (testing may be required).Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).Familiarity with Syspro ERP or similar BOM/MRP/ECO systems preferred.Technical Knowledge:Experience in sheet metal and wood cabinetry design and assembly.Understanding of PDM practices and file management.Knowledge of fabrication techniques, manufacturing tolerances, and related standards (UL, CE, CSE, NSF).Electrical component and integration experience is a plus.Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIREDDesired AttributesSelf-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.Creative problem-solver with a hands-on approach and a strong sense of urgency.Adaptable to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Team-oriented, professional, and committed to continuous improvement.Performance MetricsSuccess in this role will be measured by the engineer’s ability to:Deliver accurate and complete BOMs, work order routings, and drawing packages.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support departmental goals.Identify and implement cost-saving and quality-improvement initiatives.Contribute to maintaining a high standard of design accuracy, efficiency, and innovation.
