Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This role involves supporting complex mechanical systems, leading technical projects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in developing innovative products and tools that support Phenix Technology’s strategic goals. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach to product development, analysis, and continuous improvement. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PMTravel: Minimal (25%)Pay Range: $85,000 – $120,000 annually (DOE)Direct Hire #PFE Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage project plans, including milestones, tasks, tollgates, budgets, and timelinesConduct engineering analyses such as design reviews, FEA, material selection, and tolerance studiesCreate and maintain detailed engineering documentation (CAD models, drawings, BOMs, test reports)Lead prototyping, testing, and evaluation of new designsIdentify process deficiencies and implement effective engineering solutionsEnsure products are manufacturable, reliable, and perform consistently in real-world conditionsAccurately estimate and track engineering hours for internal projectsApply strong analytical, conceptual, and critical-thinking skills throughout design and executionSupport Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesMentor and support members of the engineering teamStay current with industry standards, safety regulations, and emerging technologies QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline5 years of professional engineering experienceExperience with polymers, plastics processing, injection molding, and compression moldingProficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)Experience with engineering analysis tools (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, Creo Simulate, or similar)Familiarity with mathematical and analytical tools (MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, etc.)Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently, meet deadlines, and provide updates to leadershipHigh attention to detail with excellent documentation skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Ideal Candidate QualificationsMaster’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience designing helmets or firefighting equipmentLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)Expertise in injection-molded plastic component developmentHands-on experience with CAE and CAMExperience leading or mentoring an engineering teamStrong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, waste reduction, continuous improvement)High integrity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills This position is integral to advancing our engineering capabilities while fostering innovation in a dynamic work environment.
