Warehouse Operations Specialist
Job Summary
The Warehouse Operations Specialist plays a critical role in the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of HVAC materials, components, and equipment. This position supports daily warehouse operations by ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining organized storage systems, and delivering timely support to internal teams—including installation, service, and production. The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, organized, and experienced in warehouse, mechanical, or HVAC environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling & Logistics
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming HVAC materials, equipment, and supplies against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Safely unload delivery vehicles using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Label, organize, and store inventory—including coils, units, fittings, ductwork, refrigerant items, and accessories—in designated warehouse locations.
- Accurately pick, stage, and prepare materials for production, service calls, and job site deliveries.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, documentation, and timely updates in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Handle and store hazardous or temperature‑sensitive materials in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Support seasonal inventory shifts, large project staging, and bulk material coordination.
Warehouse Safety & Organization
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse, including receiving, staging, and storage areas.
- Follow HVAC‑specific handling standards, including proper refrigerant storage and documentation practices.
General Operations
- Support and participate in process improvement efforts aimed at increasing warehouse efficiency and workflow accuracy.
- Assist with special operational or departmental projects as assigned.
- Perform additional duties to support warehouse objectives and overall business needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year warehouse experience; HVAC, mechanical, or construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of HVAC components and materials is a plus.
- Forklift certification—or willingness to obtain certification—is required.
- Able to lift and move up to 35 lbs consistently and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with solid organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency; experience with inventory systems or WMS preferred.
- Effective verbal communication and ability to work well within a team environment.
