The Corporate Counsel will provide expert legal guidance to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while supporting various business operations. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner in contract negotiation, risk management, and corporate governance, facilitating business growth while mitigating legal exposure.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on corporate transactions and agreements
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and legal documents
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across various jurisdictions
- Advise on corporate governance matters and internal policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks
- Conduct legal research to support business initiatives and decisions
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and coordinate with outside counsel when necessary
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the state bar association
- A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate setting
- Experience in contract law and corporate transactions
- Logistics experience with a focus on Transportation Law
- Experience with Employment Law, Worker's Comp Claims, and Appeals
- Familiarity with international business law
- Proficiency in various software tools used for legal research and documentation
- Ability to manage and mentor junior legal staff
- Experience with Real Estate law
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
