What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager (CNC Aerospace) position at Ultimate Staffing?
We are seeking a hands on, Quality Assurance Manager to manage our QA team of a CNC Aerospace manufacturing Facility in Anaheim.
This is a multi role position requiring a wide range of duties and skills. The successful candidate will have a balanced mix of good communication skills, solid computer skills, have hands on mechanical inspection of machined parts, be able to communicate effectively with suppliers and our customers. This person also is the point of contact to external suppliers and our customers for all quality related issues, as well as direct teh inspection, physical dimensional check, check paperwork and processing certifications from suppliers and vendors. Duties also include supervising a small team, mentoring leading, scheduling departmental duties. Maintain the QA system. Also representing the QA department in production meetings, and for Quality Audits.
Quality Manager Duties include but not limited to:
- Work closely and communicate effectively with the Production Manager to achieve product quality and production goals.
- Serve as Point of Contact for customer Quality issues. Respond to Customer corrective action requests. Conduct Root Cause analysis and complete the corrective action response.
- Participate in customer product source inspection of parts.
- Assist or direct daily mechanical parts inspection functions: perform in-process, first article AS9102 and final inspection of precision machined parts.
- Participate in production meetings representing the Quality Department, keeping the team updated with supplier and customer quality issues.
- Supervise or perform CMM parts inspection experience. PCDMIS experience preferred.
- Review material and processing certifications for compliance to Aerospace standards.
- Complete or review AS9102 First Article dimensional inspection reports.
- Perform daily in process inspection of parts and final inspection to support our machine shop.
- Assist as needed, hands on dimensionally inspect precision machined parts using mics, surface plate inspection techniques, CMM tools, optical comparator, thread and plug gages.
- Inspect materials for size, condition, conformance to specifications.
- Complete reports, logs, scan paperwork, file online, email.
- Support the General Manager as directed and as required.
Requirements:
- 5 years prior QA hands on mechanical inspection experience, or prior machine shop as a machinist experience will suffice.
- Experience using inspection hand tools, such as mics, indicators, height gages, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings related to precision machined parts.
- You must have experience inspecting small to medium sized, complex, close tolerance precision machined parts. Made from aircraft grade alloys.
- Shop math, trig, or related knowledge required
- Competent computer skills, such as email use, MS Word, Excel creation, scanning, PDF file saving,
- US Citizenship required or equivalent for our US Govt contracts.
- Excellent communications and skills, must be able to effectively speak, write emails and telephone communications with the suppliers and customers.
- Must be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively as above. Bilingual spanish, or Vietnamese is helpful too.
- Preference to candidates with Aerospace / Defense industry specifications experience; e.g. Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop, USG, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, in the area of mentoring, motivating, and managing a small team.

This is a full time position in our clean air conditioned facility.
Monday through Thursday, Four Tens, First shift. Some Overtime is possible.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
