Quality Technician
Role Overview:
The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting materials and products to ensure they meet internal specifications and external regulatory standards. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and expertise in quality testing and problem resolution. The position includes maintaining records, identifying quality issues, and recommending corrective actions to improve manufacturing processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement company and regulatory quality standards for production.
- Conduct, document, and evaluate chemical and physical tests on in-process and finished goods.
- Audit product quality data and address deviations from standard practices.
- Manage nonconformance tracking, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Investigate product complaints and quality issues, ensuring resolution.
- Identify, reclassify, and assist in the disposition of rejected materials.
- Create and update quality control procedures and reports.
- Recommend process, quality standards, and product testing improvements.
- Perform process audits and provide technical assistance for projects and experiments.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in metallurgy, chemistry, or related field; 5 years in Quality Assurance, preferably in industrial manufacturing.
- Skills: Knowledge of QA methods/tools, analytical/problem-solving ability, and technical report writing skills.
- Language: Proficient in reading, analyzing, and presenting technical and business information.
- Math: Expertise in probability, statistical analysis, and applying mathematical concepts.
- Computer: Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and database tools.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
- Frequent walking, climbing stairs, and sitting for extended periods.
- Lift/push/pull objects up to 15 lbs.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
- Flexibility to work diverse shifts, overtime as needed.
Additional Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Pass a background check and drug screening.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
