Patient Intake Coordinator

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

$25-$30 per hour, based on experience

Temporary Assignment (3-4 Months) with Potential for Permanent Hire

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Intake Coordinator to join their team in Rockville, MD. This role serves as a key connection between patients, families, referral partners, and internal clinical teams, ensuring a seamless onboarding and admissions experience.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming referrals and service inquiries
• Collect, review, and verify patient demographic, clinical, and insurance information
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems
• Coordinate with healthcare providers, referral partners, and internal teams to facilitate timely admissions
• Request and obtain required medical records and supporting documentation
• Track referrals throughout the intake and onboarding process
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals
• Assist with insurance verification and coverage-related inquiries
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations
• Monitor referral status and provide updates to appropriate stakeholders
• Maintain detailed reports, logs, and records with a high level of accuracy
• Support departmental initiatives and special projects as assigned
  
  

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience in patient intake, admissions, healthcare customer service, medical office administration, or a related field
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail
  
  

• Experience in healthcare, home health, hospice, medical practice, or care coordination settings
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes
