Insurance Verification Specialist

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday

Pay Range:

• $17 - $21 per hour (DOE)
  
  

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance verification or medical billing (preferred)
• Knowledge of insurance plans, EOBs, and prior authorization processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office
  
  

• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments
• Obtain and document prior authorizations as required by insurance carriers
• Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements
• Communicate coverage details, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs to patients
• Resolve insurance discrepancies and follow up on denied claims
• Maintain accurate records in the practice management system
• Collaborate with billing team and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow
• Handle patient inquiries regarding insurance and billing in a professional manner
• Stay updated on insurance guidelines and compliance requirements
