Title: Process Engineer

Location: Kankakee, IL

Schedule: Part-Time (~20 hours/week)

Duration: 6 months

Overview

Seeking a Process Owner (Lift Systems) to lead process transformation, design, and qualification activities for mechanical lifting equipment used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The role focuses on ensuring system safety, ergonomics, and GMP compliance in coordination with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the qualification and implementation of new mechanical lift systems
• Develop and align URS and design specifications with operational requirements
• Support P&ID reviews, risk assessments (HAZOP/FMEA), and FAT/SAT testing
• Ensure safety and ergonomics compliance in all system configurations
• Author and review SOPs, Work Instructions, and GMP documentation
• Provide operational training and continuous improvement recommendations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)
• 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or biopharma environments
• Strong knowledge of GMP, safety standards, and equipment qualification
• Experience with mechanical lift systems and ergonomic assessments preferred
• Excellent collaboration and documentation skills
