Job Title: Employee Relations Manager
Location: Kankakee, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, flexible days)
Assignment Length: 9 months (likely to extend up to 12 months)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Specialist to manage moderately complex employee relations (ER) cases. This role is ideal for a professional skilled in investigations, conflict resolution, and employment law compliance. The position requires strong relationship-building abilities, sound judgment, and the ability to coach leaders through sensitive and confidential situations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in employee relations with a focus on investigations.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance practices.
- Experience using HRIS and case management systems (ServiceNow, NAVEX EthicsPoint preferred).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Local to Kankakee, IL and able to work onsite 3 days per week.
Preferred:
- Experience in unionized or labor relations environments.
- SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Experience supporting multiple locations in a global, matrixed organization.
