Job Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and motivated Mechanic Helper to assist our mechanics with maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment, including trucks, rental equipment, and mining machinery.
This is a great opportunity for someone with basic mechanical knowledge and their own basic tools who is eager to learn and grow in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
General Support:
- Assist mechanics with daily maintenance and repair tasks
- Hand tools, parts, and equipment to mechanics as needed
- Help keep shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized
Equipment Assistance:
- Support inspections and basic repairs on trucks, rental equipment, and heavy machinery
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, greasing, and filter replacements
- Help identify mechanical issues and report findings to lead mechanics
Shop & Safety:
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
- Maintain tools and ensure proper use of equipment
- Assist with loading/unloading parts and materials
Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical knowledge required
- Must have basic hand tools
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced mechanics
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Previous mechanic helper or shop experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods
