Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans that enhance players' skills and team strategies.
- Organize and conduct daily practices and training sessions that emphasize physical conditioning, teamwork, and individual skill development.
- Coach the JV boys soccer team during games, providing guidance and support to players both on and off the field.
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth among players.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player development.
- Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes and promote a balance between academics and athletics.
- Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to align team goals and training methodologies.
- Assist in the organization of team events, including fundraising activities, tournaments, and community outreach programs.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in soccer, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, school staff, and parents.
- A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all student-athletes.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
- Availability for afternoon and evening practices, as well as weekend games and tournaments.
- A passion for soccer and a desire to develop young athletes both on and off the field.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in physical education, sports management, or a related field is a plus.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment “at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
