2nd Grade Teacher - Sawtooth Elementary

Job Summary
Sawtooth Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time 2nd-grade teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment, promote student growth, and support the academic, social, and emotional development of each child. This position requires a passion for teaching young learners and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive classroom.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love of learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support student learning and address individual needs.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote a respectful and positive classroom culture.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Contribute to the school community through participation in meetings, committees, and extracurricular activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or license for elementary education.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to create a diverse and inclusive classroom environment that meets the needs of all students.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance instruction.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Previous teaching experience in an elementary school setting is preferred but not required.
