Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and games.
- Help develop and implement training programs to improve individual and team performance.
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in skill development, strategy, and game preparation.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance growth.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and respect.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team matters.
- Assist in organizing team events, including fundraisers, travel arrangements, and community outreach.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations and policies.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required.
- Support the Head Coach in maintaining equipment and facilities.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or playing experience in softball at the high school level or above.
- Strong knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to achieve their best.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the season.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
- Background check clearance as required by school district policy.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment "at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon Board approval and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening. All applicants who are being offered employment with the District must test free of drugs and alcohol as a condition of employment.
Salary : $36,743 - $51,766
