Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Alumni Giving and Constituent Engagement is a frontline fundraiser (gift officer) who reports directly to the Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement and serves as a key member of the Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement within the Division of Development and Alumni Engagement. This role manages a regional fundraising portfolio in the Gulf Coast (Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas) and plays a key fundraising role in reunions, Homecoming, Founders Day, and other alumni initiatives. Additionally, the Assistant Director is assigned to fundraising opportunities within the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Nursing and Allied Health, the School of Education, and the College of Engineering—partnering closely with faculty and deans to cultivate alumni support for academic priorities.
Essential Job Duties
- Serve as a fundraiser (gift officer) for alumni in the Gulf Coast region, managing a portfolio of prospects across all giving levels.
- Play a central fundraising role in class reunions, Homecoming, Founders Day, and other alumni giving initiatives.
- Conduct one-on-one donor visits, cultivate relationships, solicit contributions, and steward alumni donors.
- Partner with assigned colleges (Arts and Sciences, Nursing and Allied Health, Education, and Engineering) to identify and advance alumni fundraising opportunities.
- Support the Senior Director in designing, implementing, and evaluating alumni engagement strategies directly tied to fundraising outcomes.
- Assist with execution of alumni events and initiatives that strengthen participation and inspire giving.
- Develop and manage alumni volunteer initiatives (advisory groups, regional clubs, class agents, and think tanks) to drive giving and engagement.
- Focus efforts on young alumni and corporate-connected alumni, linking participation to philanthropy.
- Represent the University at alumni gatherings, conferences, and regional events, ensuring engagement leads to measurable fundraising results. Maintain accurate and timely records of donor activity in the CRM system, aligned with CASE Alumni Engagement Metrics (AEM) standards.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, alumni relations, or related areas such as student engagement, admissions, or advancement
