Estimating Specialist

Tusco is looking for an Estimating Specialist to join our Preconstruction team in Huntsville, AL.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their experience in construction estimating and preconstruction while working alongside an experienced team on projects across the country.

As an Estimating Specialist, you’ll support the estimating process from the time a new opportunity comes in through proposal submission and project turnover. You’ll work closely with our Preconstruction Manager and estimating team to review project documents, develop scopes, perform quantity takeoffs, gather pricing, coordinate bid information, and keep opportunities moving forward.

What you’ll do:

• Assist with preparing estimates and proposals for construction projects
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and other project information
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with developing project costs
• Obtain and evaluate material, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor pricing
• Help identify missing information, scope discrepancies, and pricing requirements
• Track bid opportunities, requirements, deadlines, and project information
• Maintain opportunity information and activity within FollowUp CRM
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed
• Assist with scope documentation, bid summaries, proposals, and project turnover
• Work closely with the Preconstruction team throughout the bidding process

What we’re looking for:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education or relevant experience will also be considered
• Previous construction, estimating, or project coordination experience is a plus
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Interest in developing a career in estimating and preconstruction

Experience with construction drawings, Bluebeam, FollowUp CRM, or similar estimating and CRM software is a plus.
