We are currently seeking: Civil Designer/Draftsman
The Civil Designer/Draftsman will be responsible for creating and revising detailed technical drawings and plans for perimeter security projects under the direction of the Engineering Manager or Project Manager. Key responsibilities include producing accurate CAD drawings, collaborating with engineers and project teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. This role emphasizes precision, teamwork, and timely delivery of high-quality project documentation to support construction and design processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare detailed CAD drawings, including site plans, shop drawings, layout drawings, and project exhibits, for perimeter security systems and related civil engineering projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to review and revise design documents based on project requirements and feedback.
- Assist in the preparation and modification of construction drawings, ensuring alignment with industry standards, company guidelines, and client specifications.
- Produce specification manuals and supporting documentation for project deliverables, obtaining necessary signoffs per project submittal checklists.
- Support the development of presentation materials, such as visual aids and project exhibits, to communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
- Maintain organized and accurate digital files for all drawings and project documentation, ensuring accessibility and version control.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct site visits as needed to verify field conditions and compile After Action Reports to document observations and recommendations.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating initiative to exceed expectations and address challenges proactively.

Qualifications

- Thorough understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn, civil design principles and project-specific requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).
- Working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (e.g., Revit) or equivalent design tools, preferred.
- Familiarity with construction documentation and industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AISC, or local building codes).
- Basic understanding of perimeter security systems or related civil engineering applications preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field; bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Experience requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience for entry-level roles, with exposure to CAD drafting and technical drawing production.
- 3–6 years of experience for mid-level roles, with expertise in civil design and project coordination.
- 6–10 years of experience for senior roles, with advanced proficiency in CAD software and leadership in design projects.
- Certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (AutoCAD or Civil 3D) or similar, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to work in office or field environments, including occasional site visits requiring mobility and observation of construction conditions.
