We are currently seeking: Shop Assistant
The Shop Assistant will support the Facilities and Shop by applying mechanical skills and by performing general labor, custodial and maintenance duties as directed by the Shop Manager at various Tusco locations.
Responsibilities
- Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
- Applying skills to the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds as assigned at all Tusco Locations as assigned.
- Maintaining assigned equipment in proper working order.
- Maintaining grounds, lawns, and equipment/materials storage areas.
- Maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items needed to perform duties assigned.
- Performing minor repairs to the facilities including plumbing, electrical system, miscellaneous repairs, etc.
- Assists with Maintaining an accurate running inventory of tools, equipment, materials.
- Restocking and organization of material and supplies and inventory.
- Accepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries and pickups according to policy.
- Completes an efficient safe delivery and pick up of items for Shop Manager as assigned.
- Aids in general warehouse duties.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to drive safely.
- Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
- Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
- Able to always remain professional and courteous.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, preferred
- Ability to weld (stick, mig, aluminum), preferred
Qualifications
- Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying
- Must be able to move up to 80 pounds at a time
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver license and clean driving record required.
- CDL; preferred
