This position will be working with pediatric clients. The schedule is full-time working Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. We understand our employees have busy lives outside of work and strive to help them achieve a good work/life balance.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, your duties would include but are not limited to:

  • Provide quality habilitation and rehabilitation services designed to develop, restore, or improve function. Administer treatment that is individualized, appropriate for the diagnosis and client, and utilizing current techniques and procedures to address goals.
  • Modify treatment according to ongoing re-evaluation, progress, or change in client status. Follow age- appropriate guidelines in treatment of clients.
  • Consult and communicate with identified service providers concerning treatment recommendations / plans /goals and obtain additional information necessary to continue the provision of quality services to achieve maximum benefits.
  • Provide for continuity of care and involve client / family in the decision making process.
  • Provide ongoing instruction, education, and training to client / guardian / caregiver in regards to treatment procedures to be continued in the home.
  • Assist in the evaluation, development and / or purchase of adaptive communication and durable medical equipment, testing tools and therapy equipment in cooperation with other disciplines.
  • Utilize Turnstone’s electronic health records (EHR) system for daily operations (ie. current therapy schedule, documentation.)
  • Using the electronic health records (EHR) system, document in the client’s chart with clinical reports including evaluation, intervention notes, progress reports (quarterly or as needed by referral or funding source), and discharge summary meeting departmental timeline expectation.
  • Provide direct supervision and training for Speech Therapy Assistants, Rehabilitation therapy aides, Speech Therapy students, and Graduate Speech Pathologists during their Clinical Fellowship year.
  • Instruct and provide direction to volunteers and program observers as needed.
  • Pursue continuing education opportunities for learning new procedures / techniques in the field of Speech /Language Pathology and as necessary to maintain licensure and / or specialized certifications.
  • Complete all agency mandatory in-services and competency testing annually and maintain CPR certification.
  • Report to Director in respective program areas for daily operational supervision.
  • Voluntarily participate in community and Turnstone activities, as desired.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a School of Speech and Language Pathology with a Master’s or Doctorate in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Holds a current and valid license as a Speech/Language Pathologist in the State of Indiana, the attainment of Certification of Clinical Competency within the period ascribed by ASHA following graduation, and application of the CFY.
  • At least one year of experience with children in the SLP field.
  • Maintained certification in CPR and First Aid.

Preferred:

  • LVST LOUD Certification
  • Experience with American Sign Language
