Responsibilities
- Establish, communicate, and enforce design and graphic standards
- Review project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content
- Promote quality across projects, groups, and sections
- Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance
- Ensure that design deliverables are prepared, coordinated among disciplines and issued in accordance with Quality Assurance Procedures and project specific procedures
- Improve integration, coordination, and communication across disciplines
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design guides, standards, and processes
- Lead or participate in process improvement and change management initiatives
- Apply sound engineering fundamentals and established design practices in developing deliverables
- Exercise judgment, make work-related decisions, and guide other professionals
- Coordinate deliverable presentations, delegate production design, or other electronic applications
- Monitor production to assure consistency, budget and schedule of deliverables
- Establish drawing control methods and maintain historical records
- Program control systems or participate in other plant start-up activities associated with a specialized expertise area
- Lead or support development of new or updated design applications and processes
- Coordinate with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development
- May support field activities
- May manage multiple discipline areas or groups
- Communicate project design requirements, progress, and schedules
- Determine identification of key client interests and drivers on projects
- Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns
- Lead development and communication of design standards and process improvement initiatives
- Identify training and development needs and support personnel development for personnel they supervise
- Champion development and improvement of project tools and software applications
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design related technology
- Typically a minimum of 15 years related work experience
- Experience with 3D modeling of equipment, Duct bank design, cable tray design, grounding, lighting (extra)
- AGI experience
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology
