Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain analytical tools and visualizations (Tableau, SQL, Python, Excel) to support load, renewable, and uncertainty forecasting, including performance tracking and issue resolution
- Contribute to the daily operational load forecast by assessing model outputs, weather data, historical analogs, and evolving load characteristics
- Support the onboarding of new solar and wind generation by initiating forecasts, evaluating input data, and coordinating with generation owners and forecast vendors
- Enhance renewable forecasting processes, including improving onboarding workflows and ensuring input data quality
- Monitor forecast performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and input data quality
- Perform ad hoc analyses and act as a problem solver to support operational needs, data requests, customer inquiries, and corporate goal KPIs
- Support uncertainty modeling efforts, including training and tuning machine learning models, evaluating performance, and communicating insights to stakeholders
- Leverage AI tools to rapidly prototype new capabilities, enhance existing tools, and improve forecasting outcomes
- Identify and drive continuous improvements in forecasting methodologies, processes, and tools in a dynamic operating environment
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of electric power industry trends impacting uncertainty, including renewable integration, electrification, and data center growth
- Collaborate closely with teammates across System Operations to tackle complex, ambiguous problems with real-time operational impact
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality, detail-oriented work
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and navigate ambiguity in problem-solving
- Technical troubleshooting skills and ability to support operational tools and processes
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey insights and recommendations
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience with Tableau, SQL, Python, and Excel
- Familiarity with operations, markets, or planning functions

Salary : $80,000 - $115,000
