Staff/Senior Accountant – Cash Application & Loan Reconciliation Bethesda, MD | 4 Days Onsite
Our client is a well-capitalized, middle-market specialty finance firm backed by one of the largest alternative asset managers in the world. As they integrate a new portfolio company, they are adding a cash application and loan reconciliation specialist to their team.
Role Overview
High-volume, process-heavy accounting role focused on cash application and loan-level reconciliation within a private credit platform. You will receive incoming cash from borrowers, match it to the correct loan contracts, and ensure accurate allocation across principal, interest, and fees.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply incoming cash payments to the correct loan contracts (principal, interest, fees)
- Reconcile cash received against expected loan activity and investigate discrepancies
- Identify and resolve short pays, timing differences, and misapplied cash
- Work within loan structures and payment schedules to ensure contract-level accuracy
- Manage a high volume of daily transactions with precision and attention to detail
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in cash application and/or reconciliations
- Background in lending, leasing, or high-volume transactional environments strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills; ability to work with contracts, payment schedules, and loan data
- Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset
- Polished and professional presentation
Compensation: $45–$50/hr (contract to perm)
Salary : $40 - $50
