Job Summary:

The position demands strong technical proficiency in enterprise systems and analytics tools, coupled with the ability to research and interpret tax regulations across various state and local jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file property tax and sales/use tax returns accurately and within statutory deadlines
- Process and reconcile tax payments while maintaining general ledger account accuracy
- Manage high-volume property tax data processing for approximately 3,000 bills across multiple jurisdictions
- Collect, organize, and analyze tax-related data from internal and external sources
- Utilize analytics and reporting tools to support statutory compliance and forecast reporting requirements
- Research and interpret tax statutes, regulations, and rulings to ensure proper compliance implementation
- Investigate existing transactions to determine taxability and support business decision-making
- Prepare tax-related accounting entries and forecasts in accordance with GAAP, SOX, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate state assessments and property tax renditions and returns
- Support tax audit administration through comprehensive data analysis and documentation preparation
- Prepare supporting workpapers and participate in audit resolution negotiations
- Upload tax bills and respond to requests for proposals
- Participate in tax planning initiatives and special research projects as assigned

- Experience in utility, telecom, or railroad industries preferred
- Background in state-assessed property tax compliance preferred
- Sales/use tax audit experience preferred
- Experience preparing supporting workpapers and audit documentation preferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
