The ByWater Institute at Tulane University is seeking a highly organized and proactive Operations Administrator to support our interdisciplinary research team in the Demir Hydroinformatics and artificial intelligence lab. The successful candidate will ensure smooth daily lab operations and amplify the lab's research impact. Responsibilities include managing administrative tasks such as scheduling, and correspondence; supporting research output by scanning for funding opportunities, formatting proposals, and submitting academic papers; and driving public engagement through social media management, website maintenance, and event coordination (including hackathons and outreach).

Responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence, reference letters, and outreach materials.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, including scheduling, candidate shortlisting, and event coordination.
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms and updating web content.
- Exceptional attention to detail, specifically for checking academic papers and grant proposals against compliance checklists.
- Basic financial tracking and budgeting skills.
- Ability to navigate academic submission portals (e.g., academic journals, arXiv) and databases for grants, RFPs, and awards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary academic environment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ Communications and/or Business Administration experience.
- Bachelor's Degree/Master’s Degree
- Prior experience working in a higher education or academic research setting.
- Familiarity with academic grant cycles, RFP processes, and proposal preparation.
- Experience organizing academic or community events, such as hackathons or outreach workshops.
