Job Description
The Tulane University Program of Nursing is seeking a faculty member for a full-time nurse educator position in the New Orleans Metropolitan area. Candidates will receive an academic appointment at Tulane University School of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, dependent on previous academic accomplishments and experience.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include developing instructional material in a hybrid format for baccalaureate-level complex medical-surgical nursing courses in a hybrid BSN program with both face-to-face and online components while demonstrating effective teaching at the collegiate level, including the practice of active and engaged learning strategies. The full-time faculty member will participate in the development of the curriculum, implementation, and evaluation processes for the program to ensure alignment with professional standards and best practices in nursing education and participate fully in departmental initiatives to support the missions of the Program of Nursing and the School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students; evaluate student clinical performance according to established criteria and course objectives; advise students on academic curricula; and demonstrate the scholarship of teaching through meaningful involvement in presentations and/or publications annually. Candidates will also provide service to the University, community, and profession.

Qualifications
- Eligibility for a Louisiana RN license
- DNP or PhD degree in nursing with consideration given to related fields.
- 4 years of clinical experience in med/surg nursing preferably with leadership responsibilities.
- A strong background in nursing education.
- Excellent clinical skills and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
