Position Overview
Our client, a global organization operating within the aerospace and aviation support industry, is seeking a Senior Export Compliance Manager to lead and strengthen its international export compliance program. This role is critical in safeguarding the organization against regulatory, financial, and reputational risks while enabling compliant global growth.
This individual will act as the subject matter expert on export regulations, providing strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across compliance initiatives, licensing, and risk management. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical expertise, sound judgment, and leadership presence, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the global export compliance program, ensuring adherence to applicable U.S. and international regulations (including EAR, ITAR, and OFAC).
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Manage export licensing strategies, including applications, provisos, and ongoing obligations for complex and high-risk transactions.
- Evaluate high-risk transactions, including end-use and end-user concerns, identifying red flags and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Logistics, IT, and other departments to integrate compliance into daily workflows and systems.
- Lead internal audits, investigations, and regulatory responses, including voluntary disclosures and corrective action plans.
- Design and deliver training programs to promote compliance awareness and accountability across the organization.
- Monitor regulatory changes, enforcement trends, and geopolitical developments, providing proactive guidance to leadership.
- Exercise independent, risk-based decision-making authority, including transaction holds, denials, and escalation actions when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance processes and systems.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5-10 years of experience in export compliance or related roles.
- ECoP (Export Compliance Professional) certification required.
- Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and global export regulations.
- Experience managing export licenses, authorizations, and regulatory interactions.
- Background supporting international operations and global customer environments.
- Industry experience in aerospace, MRO, OEM, or distribution environments is preferred.
- Proficiency with export compliance systems and tools.
- Ability to interpret technical data for export classification purposes.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required based on regulatory considerations.
