Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Position Overview
TruPharmaRX is seeking a skilled Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to support daily compounding operations, product preparation, and workflow efficiency within our 503A compounding facility. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and strict adherence to USP <795>, USP <800>, and all internal standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to producing high-quality compounded medications.
Key Responsibilities
- Compound non-sterile preparations, including capsules, powders, suspensions, creams, gels, solutions, troches, and other dosage forms, in accordance with approved formulas and SOPs.
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix APIs and excipients using balances, mixers, mortar and pestle, and other compounding equipment.
- Package, label, and document finished products in compliance with prescription requirements and pharmacy procedures.
- Maintain complete, accurate batch records, logs, and compounding documentation.
- Ensure all compounding areas comply with USP <795>, USP <800>, applicable Board of Pharmacy regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Perform assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks, including proper segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous drug areas per USP <800>.
- Manage raw material inventory, including receiving, logging, COA verification, lot tracking, and FIFO rotation.
- Verify and document ingredient lot numbers, expiration dates, and quality data prior to compounding.
- Assist pharmacists and operations staff with workflow and production needs.
- Adhere to all safety requirements for handling hazardous drugs, including proper PPE use in accordance with USP <800>.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor skills, including measuring, weighing, mixing, labeling, and documentation.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods as required by USP <800>.
Qualifications
- Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician (required).
- One or more years of non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
- Strong competency in pharmaceutical calculations, measurements, and weights.
- Ability to follow detailed formulas and SOPs with precision.
- Excellent accuracy, cleanliness, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced compounding environment.
