Position Overview
TruPharmaRX is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to oversee and perform non-sterile compounding operations in our 503A compounding facility. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality compounded preparations, regulatory compliance, staff oversight, and adherence to USP <795>, USP <800>, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and internal SOPs.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, compliance-driven, and committed to accuracy, patient safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform non-sterile compounding of preparations including capsules, powders, suspensions, creams, gels, solutions, troches, and other dosage forms.
- Review and verify prescriptions, formulas, calculations, and compounding records for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure full compliance with USP <795>, USP <800>, Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations, and internal quality standards.
- Oversee pharmacy technicians engaged in compounding activities, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Approve and maintain complete batch records, logs, and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of hazardous and non-hazardous drugs, including PPE and room segregation per USP <800>.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including audits, deviation investigations, and CAPA implementation.
- Review raw material documentation, including COAs, lot numbers, expiration dates, and supplier qualifications.
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to optimize workflow, efficiency, and regulatory readiness.
- Assist with SOP development, revisions, and staff training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready compounding environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor skills such as measuring, weighing, labeling, and documentation.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing (required).
- Minimum 1–2 years of non-sterile compounding experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of USP <795>, USP <800>, and state/federal pharmacy regulations.
- Excellent pharmaceutical calculation and formulation review skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
- Proven ability to supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians and staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced compounding environment.
