We are partnering with a well-established Milwaukee-based company seeking an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day transactional accounting operations. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering stability, hands-on training, and the chance to grow within a collaborative accounting team.
This role is ideal for someone with foundational accounting experience or a strong work history who is eager to learn and build their skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and support vendor payments
- Generate customer invoices and assist with billing activities
- Apply cash receipts and maintain accurate customer account records
- Perform light collections and follow up on outstanding balances
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and customers
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Assist with additional accounting tasks and projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 1 year of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
- Open to entry-level candidates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in an ERP system (experience with Shopworks a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data entry, organization)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliable, dependable, and able to manage priorities in a structured environment
