SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk provides the best possible support to the department and the organization through tactical accounting processes and practices. Responsibilities include assisting with accounts payable and receivable, cash disbursements and deposits, data entry and report auditing, assisting with timely month-end close, all while ensuring the confidentiality of records and information.

Responsibilities include assisting with accounts payable and receivable, cash disbursements and deposits, data entry and report auditing, assisting with timely month-end close, all while ensuring the confidentiality of records and information.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with entering Accounts Payable invoices into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable, including but not limited to, managing customer invoicing, following up on past-due accounts, and ensuring compliance.
- Record daily cash receipts and reconcile as needed.
- Assist with month-end close, year-end close, annual external audit, and tax return completion.
- Assist with filing of monthly State Sales and Use tax returns.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset system.
- Conduct monthly journal entries, monthly account reconciliations and analysis.
- Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.
- Assist with suggestions for and the documentation of new departmental procedures.
- Provide timely updates on actionable items to support the overall accounting team.
- Drive, develop, and document business process changes to eliminate waste, improve accuracy, and optimize ERP utilization.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- 2- or 4-year degree in Accounting preferred; candidates with 1 or more years of direct experience, in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) required; Prior ERP or accounting software experience a plus.
- Knowledgeable about data and information collection practices to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Impeccable confidentiality, organization, follow-up, and attention to detail required.

- Ability to learn quickly, manage time effectively, and adapt to change with minimal noise.
