Trueline's client, a growing employee-owned provider of cabinetry, countertops, and interior design solutions throughout the Midwest, is seeking a Senior Designer - Cabinetry to join their team in the Des Moines, IA area.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced kitchen and bath designer who thrives in a customer-facing environment and enjoys transforming ideas into functional, beautiful spaces. The ideal candidate will bring advanced cabinetry design expertise, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently while helping elevate less experienced designers.
What You'll Do as the Senior Designer - Cabinetry:
- Create detailed kitchen, bath, and cabinetry designs for homeowners, builders, and remodeling contractors
- Develop accurate layouts, specifications, and product selections using 2020 / Cyncly Design software
- Meet directly with clients, both in person and virtually, to understand project goals and guide design decisions
- Prepare cabinetry and countertop quotes and proposals
- Read, interpret, and scale residential and commercial blueprints
- Conduct jobsite measurements and revise plans to ensure proper product fit and installation
- Manage projects from initial concept through final order submission
- Troubleshoot design challenges and provide creative solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and budget
- Review and verify design details to ensure accuracy and minimize errors
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the design process
- Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced designers as needed
Must-Haves as the Senior Designer - Cabinetry:
- 5 years of kitchen, bath, cabinetry, or closely related design experience
- Advanced proficiency with 2020 / Cyncly Design software OR ProKitchens
- Strong cabinetry design experience with the ability to create detailed and accurate plans independently
- Ability to read and scale residential and commercial blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Designer - Cabinetry:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field
- Experience designing for both new construction and remodeling projects
- Previous mentoring or leadership experience within a design team
- Countertop design and specification experience
- Familiarity with field measurements and installation coordination
